English

Answer:

C. The next day

Explanation:

Coherence is achieved when every sentence, and every phrase contribute to the meaning of the whole paragraph, and are clearly related to each other, that is to say, when there is paragraph unity. In the excerpt, without the phrase "The next day", the sentence "we took the test and I think I did really well" would seem detached from the other sentence as it would not indicate the sequence of the events, and the passage would lack focus.

The foul odor that caused the narrator and Thompson to flee into the cold is the Limburger Cheese. Of course they thought it was the rotting corpse but the pine box did not contain a dead body, instead inside were a bunch of guns.

Answer:

B. mainly

Explanation:

The repeated word in the first paragraph that is an intensifier and actually  emphasizing the fact that the story of Huck Finn is more fiction than  fact is mainly.

Intensifier is known to be a word that actually strengthens or weakens another word close to it in a sentence.

From the passage, we discover that the author repeated the word "mainly" and not just that but also repeated the sentence bearing the word "mainly".

Here it is:

<em>"...he told the truth, mainly"  </em>(Line 4) and

<em>"mainly he told the truth" </em>(Line 5).

We can then infer that actually not everything in the book is the fact. As the author repeats the word, "mainly", he tends to reiterate that not everything in the story is true; there is something fictitious.

So, the correct answer is mainly.

Answer:

Cause/effect is the text structure type

Explanation:

The author is telling why people have started running as a sport a lot more. To know this, you can just say because this happened, this happened. Because people wanted to save money, they stopped going to gyms and started doing a cheap sport. The author develops the ideas by using the text structure by giving many reasons why people should/would start running as a sport. The 3rd sentence is a good example of the author telling why people would run. Hope this helps :)
