The correct answer is D. Revising paragraphs for clarity

Explanation:

The writing process is usually composed by five main stages each of them with specific tasks, steps, and strategies that help the writer to complete the process of writing successfully and achieving a specific writing task by the end of the process; these stages are prewriting, writing, revising, editing and publishing. In the case of the pre-writing stage, this is the first stage in the writing process and it is about preparing for writing, this includes deciding on the topic that you will write about through brainstorming or discussing with a peer; looking for information about the topic by searching on internet or looking for information in a library and planning the contents of the text. This implies the one that is not an activity that is part of the prewriting stage is "Revising paragraphs for clarity" because the prewriting stage is about preparing for writing and for revising paragraphs it necessary to have already written a draft of the text which is not part of the pre-writing stage.

In the story Battle Royal by Ralph Ellison. The white men view the narrator no different than the rest of his black community. He then encounters a problem with a fellow man who he said ruined everything, so he punched him in the chin. All of a sudden he hears a voice say "I got money on the big boy". The Author wants the leaders to see his true ability, and not just view him as another black man. He had experienced conflicts, but finally got his chance. Which was given to him by the school superintendent, and got a scholarship to the college of Negros. It took the author to go through humiliating and low situations to get to his goal. And sometimes no matter how much he tried he just couldn't meet eye to eye with the whites in power.
