In the late 1980s, however, unusually warm weather caused many of the pools that the toads used as breeding areas to dry up. By

2004, the golden toad was listed as extinct. This example demonstrates how A. extinction can be related to invasion by non-native species competing for resources. B. extinction can be related to a failure to adapt to changes in the environment. C. extinction is caused by bacteria, fungi, and other infectious agents. D. extinction is directly related to human impact.

Answer:

Option B, extinction can be related to a failure to adapt to changes in the environment.

Explanation:

Here,

The toads species became extinct as the pools used by them for breeding dried up. If these toad would have adapted themselves to mate even in dry condition or without water they would have survived.

Drying up of pool is a natural event resulting into change in native environment.

Option A is not correct  as in this scenario as there were no native species other than the toads which were consuming the resource

Also option C, is not correct as in this scenario the extinction was not related to infection caused by any microorganism like bacteria etc.

Option D is also incorrect as there was no involvement of humans,  which had  led to the drying up of pool.

Thus, only option B is a possible answer to this question

Genetic drift simulation: understanding evolution
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

Genetic drift is a mechanism of evolution in which allele frequencies of a population change over generations due to chance (sampling error).

Genetic drift occurs in all populations of non-infinite size, but its effects are strongest in small populations.

Genetic drift may result in the loss of some alleles (including beneficial ones) and the fixation.

Genetic drift can have major effects when a population is sharply reduced in size by a natural disaster (bottleneck effect) or when a small group splits off from the main population to found a colony (founder effect).

Answer:

anwser is C

Explanation:

they both have 6 carbon atoms so A is wrong

both are monosacchride so B is wrong

both have same molecular formula which is (C₆H₁₂O₆) so D is wrong

in glucose the anomeric carbon is the first carbon, whereas in fructose, the anomeric carbon is the second carbon. The anomeric carbon is the one containing the carbonyl group (carbonyl group is a functional group composed of a carbon atom double-bonded to an oxygen atom: C=O)

what happens to the two small balloons inside as you pull down the big balloon at the bottom of the model?
xeze [42]

Answer:

The lower pressure balloon will expand. Figure 2 (above left) shows a typical initial configuration: the smaller balloon has the higher pressure. So, when the valve is opened, the smaller balloon pushes air into the larger balloon. It becomes smaller, and the larger balloon becomes larger.

Hope this is helps out
