The correct answer would be 1,2,3,6. Interacting properly with the multimedia content is important in order to use to full potential otherwise it can distract your audience and take the focus of your topic. Standing up straight and using appropriate is important in order to look confident and not to antagonize the audience by being too loud or too quiet. Also be mindful of the pace, you don't want to have to rush it.

Taking into consideration what we know about American history in the period that ranges from 1820 to 1864, we can say the following:

Romantic stories reflected what was going on in the country since they portrayed the pioneer life of frontiersmen. Now that the expansion to the West was being encouraged, pioneers served as characters for Romantic stories, and their life in the wilderness provided a fresh setting.

<h3>What happened between 1820 and 1864?</h3>
  • During this period in American history, a law reduced the price of land in order to encourage people to move to the West of the country. The purpose was to populate the whole country as fast as possible.
  • During this time, immigration to the United States also increased greatly, especially from European countries.

<h3>How did that reflect in Romantic novels?</h3>
  • Stories of the Romantic period in the US reflected this new reality. In an attempt to distance themselves from British literature, the novels portrayed the reality of American people.
  • The stories' heroes were frontiersmen or pioneers who headed west, lived in the wilderness or rural areas, disliked life in the city, loved nature, and were resourceful. Their sense of moral was simple, and they often felt uncomfortable around women, but close to the natural world.

In the first seven paragraphs of America and I, what are some of the images and diction used by the narrator that evoke the “dre
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

Imagery in literature refers to the use of words and analogy that appeals to the five senses.

Starting with Paragraph 7, the narrator states that after her lofty dreams of America, the fact that she needs to work to pay for her next meal and rent brought her back to reality...in her own words she states <em>"I had to put my feet down on earth"</em>

Another example of imagery used can be found in paragraph 1. She calls out to America for understanding as there are many immigrants who were beating out their heart at its gates. In other words, there are many immigrants who seek to enter into America. She speaks as though America were a living being.

The act of immigration is typified by the beating of hearts at America's gates.

In paragraph 5 she speaks of <em>hidden sap of centuries that would find release -colours that never saw light. </em>

The last part of that sentence is a good use of imagery as colour and light are very visual.

Cheers.
