The mention of light in both of these poems show how the protagonists' feel on the object in the story leaving. They are trying to hide, to not be found. Lines 28 to 29 in w<span>here have you gone and 8 to 10 in t</span><span>he taxi </span>both show how disconnected they now feel to this other person/object.
<span>based ont he story, i think initially, archie feels that the soccer try out was really important because all of his classmates and his father were really exited about it , even though deep down Archie wasn't really interested in it, but he decided to do it anyway. In the end, he realized that it's okay not to do something that he's not interested in</span>

Maybe it's because not everyone can cope with each other after such a long time. Maybe not everyone has great social skills after living together for awhile.
