The Iditarod is a 1,100 mile sled hound race beginning in Anchorage, Alaska and completion in Nome, Alaska. The Iditarod is exceptionally cruel and risky with practically horrendous conditions. This twenty multi year old race is known as the last incredible race. The historical backdrop of the Iditarod has been loaded up with stories of awful climate and incredible fines his. In 1973 In Anchorage Alaska thirty five sled hound racers known as mushers accumulated at the beginning. In 1995 Doug Swing line pursuing a 50,000 dollar tote.
No one knew whether any of them would complete the race yet the 1100 mile trek over the ice and the mountains in 20 days anyway the last spot finisher crossed the end goal in the slowest time ever of more than 32 days. In 1976 Jerry Riley won the race and eased the most minimal tote ever of $7,200. It wound up costing him as a lot to run in the race as he mitigated when he won it. Jerry Riley later got restricted from sled hound dashing when he hit one of his canines with a snow snare. In 1978 Iditarod, there was a dubious completion when one mushers hound went too far first however he different mushers sled crossed the lin first. The race was later given to the mushers who's canine crossed the end goal first.
Doug Swinge y recorded the quickest time ever when he completed the race in 9 days and 2 hours. Susan But her is likely the most well known Iditarod musher. She was the main lady to complete in the best 20 top 19 and top 5. She at that point had a momentous dash of wins beginning in 1986. She won again in 87 and 90. In Things Fall Apart, the arrival of the missionaries best illustrate the struggle between tradition and change.
While many resist the changes the missionaries bring, many like them. The missionaries bring new goods to the village and export village goods, bringing money into the village. This trade, however, has its drawbacks. Meanwhile, conversation between village elders and Mr. Brown allows them to understand one another. Mr. Brown tries to encourage the elders to educate their children, explaining this will bring hope for their futures.
Although many welcome these changes, others -- including Okonkwo -- are resistant. He and a few others do not like this change and even openly resist it. They value their traditions and do not want them altered.
Therefore, of the many themes in the novel, the one represented by the arrival of the missionaries is "the struggle between tradition and change."
