I disagree with this statement because their are other things that can be better for them. Parents focus on teaching religion to their religion because thye think its better for them but its not.
The most essential point or I would say quality which kept Elie Wiesel and his father determined to survive is definitely Eliezer's perception of reality. He understood how things work and the thing which helped him <span>is his ablility to recognize the demands of a particular situation and ability to fit in it.
