(Letter written to King George III of Great Britain). You see, in the American Colonies..........to protect the citizens that live here. Government should approve laws such as no drinking and driving and that minors should attend school regularly. It should follow the principles of John Locke, such as people having natural rights. This idea means that people should be able to have rights that come naturally to them.

What happened in 1853 to transform Port Townsend from a small logging village to a prosperous town?
yKpoI14uk [10]

I believe none of the options that have been included are accurate. Port Townsend, located in a corner of the Olympic Peninsula, in the state of Washington, became, in 1853, the official port of entry once the district custom house was moved there from the capital, Olympia. The city, which would soon be known as The City of Dreams, was, for a few decades, the region's main port and trading center.

Why did Christopher Columbus’s men blindly follow him?
REY [17]

Answer:

Columbus himself had made that assumption. His discoveries posed for him, as for others, a problem of identification. It seemed to be a question not so much of giving names to new lands as of finding the proper old names, and the same was true of the things that the new lands contained. Cruising through the Caribbean, enchanted by the beauty and variety of what he saw, Columbus assumed that the strange plants and trees were strange only because he was insufficiently versed in the writings of men who did know them. "I am the saddest man in the world," he wrote, "because I do not recognize them."
