70). Answer Letter Choice, (C), 18 pi square units.

Area = pi r^2

D = 12

R = 6

Larger Circle: 36 pi

Find smaller circles, Subtract:

Diameter of larger circle is 12

Radius 6, also diameter of small circles (2)

pi r^2

D = 6

R = 3

pi = 9

2 circles

2 * 9 pi = Letter Choice, (C), 18 pi square inches

71). Answer Letter Choice, (B), 30.79 cm^2

72). Answer: 144

Hope that helps!!!! : )

Can someone please explain how to do number 1 it’s confusing to me thank you ;)

In the given figure, Angle 23x and Angle 24x - 5 are equal because they form pair of Alternate Interior Angles.

So,

  • 24x - 5 = 23  x

  • 24x - 23x = 5

  • x = 5

value of x = 5,

now, measure of each angle = 23x = 23 × 5 = 115°

Y = 2(x+2)^2 - 18Find the x intercepts
murzikaleks [220]

Answer

x=-5

and

x=1

Explanation

The equation y = 2(x+2)^2 - 18 corresponds to a translation 2 units left and 18 units down, and a and a shrinkage about the x-axis with factor 2.

Making these transformations to y=x^2, we have:

y=2(x+2)^2-18y=2(x{}^2+4x+4)-18y=2x^2+8x+8-18y=2x^2+8x-10

Factoring:

y=2(x^2+4x-5)y=2(x+5)(x-1)

The x-intercept are found when y=0, that is:

\begin{gathered} x+5=0 \\ x=-5 \end{gathered}

and

\begin{gathered} x-1=0 \\ x=1 \end{gathered}

Which is the standard form of the equation of the parabola that has a vertex of (–4, –3) and a directrix of x = 2?
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

Equation of the parabola is \left(y+3\right)^{2}=-24(x+4)

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to find the equation of a parabola with vertex is (-4,-3) and a directrix x=2.

As vertex is (-4,-3) that means parabola is in third quadrant.

So the standard formula of the parabola will be y²= -4px through origin (0,0).

But when a parabola is shifted from origin to the left of y axis so the equation will be (y-shifting form y axis)² = -4(distance between vertex and directrix)(x-shifting from x axis)

\left\{y-(-3)\right\}^{2}=(-4\times 6)\left\{x-(-4)\right\}

\left(y+3\right)^{2}=-24(x+4).

our success rate ,depending on the year,is between 35 and 40 percent ,according to the website,in 2015,234 raptors were taken in
Vilka [71]
Number of raptors in 2015: 234

% success: between 35% and 40%

Formula

% =: [number of success rescues / number of total rescues] * 100 =>

number of success rescues = % * number of total rescuess / 100

Number of success rescues:

a) 35 * 234 / 100 = 0.35 * 234 = 81.9

b) 40 * 234 / 100 = 0.40 * 234 = 93.6

Then, the number of raptor rescues that were succesfull was about 82 to 94.
