Answer:  x=8

 ∠BEC =33°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Ray EA is perpendicular to ray ED .

It means ∠AED= 90°  [Perpendicular amkes right angles with the line]  (1)

Also, Ray EB bisects angle AEC.

i.e. ∠AEB=∠BEC

Given that the measure of ∠AEB=4x+1  , then  ∠BEC =4x+1   ......(2)

The measure of ∠CED=3x.                               (3)

Now, ∠AED=∠AEB+∠BEC+∠CED   [From the figure below]

\Rightarrow\ 90=4x+1+4x+1+3x\ \ \text{[Using (1), (2) and (3)]}\\\\\Rightarrow\ 90=11x+2\\\\\Rightarrow\ 11x=90-2=88\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=\dfrac{88}{11}=8

Then, ∠BEC =4(8)+1=33°

If ray EB bisects angle AEC, then m∠AEB=m∠BEC=4x+1.

Angles AEB, BEC and CED together form right angle AED, then

m∠AEB+m∠BEC+m∠CED=90°.

Therefore,

(4x+1)+(4x+1)+3x=90,

11x=90-2,

11x=88,

x=88:11,

x=8°.

Then m∠BEC=4x+1=4·8+1=33°.

Answer: x=8°,  m∠BEC=33°.

Answer:

4

Step-by-step explanation:

10-2(1)=8 which is >=4

10-2(2)=6 which is >=4

10-2(3)=4 which is >=4

10-2(4)=2 which isn't >=4

Write the equation of the line in standard form
Vilka [71]

Answer:

2x - 3y = 18

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

Rearrange 2x - 3y = - 3 into this form by subtracting 2x from both sides

- 3y = - 2x - 3 ( divide all terms by - 3 )

y = \frac{2}{3} x + 1 ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = \frac{2}{3}

Parallel lines have equal slopes, thus

y = \frac{2}{3} x + c ← is the partial equation

Given the y- intercept = 6, then

y = \frac{2}{3} x + 6 ← equation in slope- intercept form

Multiply through by 3

3y = 2x + 18 ( subtract 3y from both sides )

0 = 2x - 3y + 18 ( subtract 18 from both sides )

2x - 3y = - 18 ← equation in standard form

Determine the number of solutions that exist to the equation. 8(j-4)=2(4j-16)
lukranit [14]
<span>8(j-4)=2(4j-16)
8j - 32 = 8j - 32

Since both sides are equal, there are is an infinite number of solutions.

Use the net as an aid to compute the surface area of the triangular prism. A) 108 cm2 B) 120 cm2 C) 132 cm2 D) 170 cm2
nadya68 [22]

Step-by-step explanation:

Since there is no diagram of the triangular prism that we are required to calculate it's surface area. We can just fix random dimensions in order to enable us understand what we are required to do.

Meanwhile, a triangular prism is a solid shape that possesses two parallel triangles or triangular faces and about three rectangles or rectangular faces.

Example 1:

Calculate the surface area of a triangular prism with side 8cm, base 6cm and height 7cm.

Formula for calculating the surface area of a triangular prism is;

ab + 3bh

Where a = side of the prism

b = base of one of the triangular faces

h = height not the triangular face/prism.

Here a = 8cm

b = 6cm

c = 7cm

Substituting properly;

(8 × 6) + 3(6 × 7)

= 48 + 126

= 174cm^2. The surface area of the triangular prism is 174cm^2.

Example 2.

A triangular prism with side 9cm, height 4cm and base 5cm will be wrapped with a sheet of wrapping foil. Calculate the surface area of this rectangular prism.

The formula for calculating the surface area of a triangular prism = ab + 3bh

Where a = side

b = base

h = height of prism

In this case, a = 9cm

b = 5cm

h = 4cm

Substituting appropriately, we will have:

(9 × 5) + 3(5 × 4)

45 + 60

= 105cm^2

So, the surface area of this triangular prism is 105cm^2
