You can simply multiply 10*10 to get 100 possible combinations for the first two digits. Then you can multiply it again by 10 to get 1000 combinations for the first 3 digits. Then multiply it again by 10 to see that there are 10,000 possible combinations for a 4 digit code with 10 number, which is how pin numbers are created. This also means that you might have the same pin number as somebody else!
