Lewis has a net spendable income of $2,000 per month. He sets up the transportation budget for himself.

Transportation(15% - 20%) = maximum $400

Lewis had done wrong in budgeting. He had budgeted more than the maximum recommended amount of money for transportation. This is why nothing is left for maintenance or repair.

Which shows a correct step in using substitution to slove the system of equation y=2x-1 4x+y=2
jenyasd209 [6]

The solution using correct step of substitution in the equation y=2x-1 4x+y=2 is x = 1/2 and y = 0

Simultaneous equation

y = 2x - 1

4x + y = 2

  • Substitute the value of y in equation (1) into (2)

4x + y = 2

4x + (2x - 1) = 2

4x + 2x - 1 = 2

6x - 1 = 2

6x = 2 + 1

6x = 3

x = 3/6

x = 1/2

  • substitute the value of x into equation (1)

y = 2x - 1

y = 2(1/2) - 1

= 2/2 - 1

= 1 - 1

y = 0

HELP! I NEED THE ANSWER ASAP!!!!!
vladimir1956 [14]

Answer:

The solution to the given system of equations is (-2, -2).

Step-by-step explanation:

The given system of equations is,

2x + y = -6               .......(1)

-8x + 2y = 12            ......(2)

Now, we will make the coefficients of either x or y as opposites.

In the above system of equations, we will make the coefficients of x as opposites.

Multiplying equation (1) by '4' and equation (2) by '1', we get

8x + 4y = -24         .......(3)

-8x + 2y = 12          .......(4)

Now, we will add the equations (3) and (4).

  (8x + 4y) + (-8x + 2y) = -24 + 12

⇒8x + 4y - 8x + 2y = -12

⇒6y = -12

⇒y = \frac{-12}{6}

⇒y = -2

Now, substituting the value of y in equation (1), we get

  2x + (-2) = -6

⇒2x - 2 = -6

⇒2x = -6+2

⇒2x = -4

⇒x = \frac{-4}{2}

⇒x = -2

∴ x = -2; y = -2 is the solution of the given system of equations.

The ratio of the number of model cars that Jim owns to the number of model cars Terrence owns is 4 : 3. Terrence owns 36 models
a_sh-v [17]
Jim-4
Terrence-3

Terrence has 36
12×3=36

so let's multiply 4 by 12 also and that is 48

so, therefore jim has 48 model cars
