Read the excerpt from "Opening Ceremonies of the New York and Brooklyn Bridge" by Hon. Seth Low, Mayor of the City of Brooklyn.

In the course of the construction of the Bridge a number of lives have been lost. Does it not sometimes seem as though every work of enduring value, in the material as in the moral world, must needs be purchased at the cost of human life? Let us recall with kindness at this hour the work of those who labored here faithfully unto the death, no less than of that great army of men who have wrought, year in and year out, to execute the great design. Let us give our meed of praise to-day to the humblest workman who has here done his duty well, no less than to the great engineer who told him what to do. Which line from the excerpt is an example of objective language?

Answer:

The line from the excerpt that is an example of objective language is "In the course of the construction of the Bridge a number of lives have been lost."

Explanation:

The sentence selected includes real and reliable data about a fact, this is one of the main characteristics of the sentences than use objective language, even when there are moments in the rest of the excerpt that the information contains a point of view or perspective coming from the writer it is not the case of this sentence which makes it clear direct and objective.

Paraphin [41]

Answer: emphasize that statewide changes depend on individual choices

Explanation: Writers frequently use subordination to signal an imbalance or inequality between ideas. In the sentence toward the middle of the final paragraph, the author uses the subordinate clause “if Wyoming is going to be a more diverse place” to identify a situation that could exist in the future. She then uses an independent clause to reveal the condition that must be met for this situation to exist—“people have to choose to live” there. By organizing the sentence this way, the author places an emphasis on what individuals must do in order to change the state of Wyoming as a whole.

IgorLugansk [536]

The best option about what the Duke reveals about himself as he speaks in "My last Duchess" is D) that he is a calculating villain.

Is this excerpt he is talking about how his first wife was pleased by anything and how his name was valuable and she did not pay enough tribute to the value of it, to a point where he might have ordered her killing.

"Oh, sir, she smiled, no doubt,

Whene’er I passed her; but who passed without

Much the same smile? This grew; I gave commands;

Then all smiles stopped together."
