English

Answer: It could be argued that the children are characterized more favorably than Miss Caroline.

Explanation:

To Kill a Mockingbird is Harper Lee's 1960 novel. Lee tells a story about growing up in the fictional town of Maycomb, where the children learn about the injustice and prejudices.

In Chapter 2, Scout meets her teacher, Miss Caroline. She is a teacher with no experience, which is why she cannot keep the class calm. The neighboring teacher even warns her about her class being too loud.

Miss Caroline also uses a wrong approach to teaching. She criticizes Scout for learning how to read at home, instead of encouraging her to continue working hard. When Scout is punished for her bad behavior, she ends up with swats on her palm that the teacher gives her with a ruler. This all suggests that the children, young and innocent as they are, are characterized more favorably than Miss Caroline.
