The main power of the Supreme Court is having the authority to choose what would be the laws, they can choose what the constitution would look like. They make sure that the laws that are going to be placed are constitutional. What they do is receive laws that have been made by the Congress and see whether or not the law is constitutional or not. If the law is constitutional, they will allow the law to pass, but if it's unconstitutional, they will decline the law.
