first of the numbers inside the [ ] is always positive.Now since the 3 is outside the [ ] you use it like a tool and don't change it, so nothing happen to it.since ^3 is missing a base (variable, cannot remember exact name) but is not missing ^3, which make them alike enough to multiply because 3 is outside of () nut the ^3 will stay the same (don't know why but that's how math works)
