If shown, AB and CD are straight lines. Find x in each case.
nlexa [21]

Answer:

x = 60

Step-by-step explanation:

Vertical opposite angles are formed when two straight lines intersect each other.

Given that AD and CD are two straight lines intersecting at O, the two vertical opposite formed are, ∠AOD and ∠COB. Therefore:

∠AOD = ∠COB (Vertical opposite angles are congruent)

∠AOE = 90° (right angle)

∠DOE = x

∠COF = 30°

∠BOF = 2x

m∠AOE + m∠DOE = m∠AOD (angle addition postulate)

90 + x = ∠AOD (Substitution)

m∠COF + m∠BOF = m∠COB (Angle addition postulate)

30 + 2x = ∠COB

m∠AOD = m∠COB (vertical opposite angles)

90 + x = 30 + 2x (Substitution)

Collect like terms

90 - 30 = 2x - x

60 = x

x = 60

I dont know how to do this
Kipish [7]
So what you're going to do is just multiply how you were normal to play multiply the numerator times the other numerator then multiply the denominator's and that should get you your answer and then you can try and simplify it by finding if it can be divided equally then see if it is bigger or smaller

Allison is 5 ft tall. One afternoon her shadow measured 2.5 ft. At the same time, the shadow of her favorite tree was 14.5 ft. W
luda_lava [24]
At the same time, the sun casts a shadow on the girl and tree creating two similar right triangles. You can use a ratio of girl's height to her shadow will be the same as the tree's height to it's shadow.

5 / 2.5 = T / 14.5
2 = T / 14.5
2 * 14.5 = T
29 ft = Tree
