Answer: true.

Explanation:

"Communion" refers to a full alignment of churches together, where they share in ministry and sacraments together (such as shared communion in the Lord's Supper). It is true that the Eastern Orthodox Church is not in full communion with Western churches, either Roman Catholic or Protestant.

However, there is communication between the churches. "Communication" refers to dialogue and talking -- and Eastern Orthodox leaders do have dialogue and communication with leaders in both the Roman Catholic Church and Protestant churches.

The Orthodox Church and Roman Catholic Church have been involved in dialogues with one another since the time of Vatican II in the 1960s. Orthodox observers were present at that Second Vatican Council.

Dialogue between the Orthodox Church and Protestant churches began in the late 19th century with efforts by the Church of England, and have continued in the 20th century to the present through the World Council of Churches.
