Biology

Answer:

Meiosis is a type of cell division that reduces the number of chromosomes in the parent cell by half and produces four gamete cells.

Explanation:

Basically there are four processes that takes place under "MEIOSIS". And they are :

 • Prophase
 • Metaphase
 • Anaphase
 • Telophase

Prophase:

In prophase, chromosomes become visible and crossing-over occurs, then nucleolus disappears and the meiotic spindle forms, then the nuclear envelope disappears. The duplicated homologous chromosomes pair, and crossing-over (the physical exchange of chromosome parts) occurs.

Metaphase:

Metaphase process that separates duplicated genetic material carried in the nucleus of a parent cell into two identical daughter cells. During metaphase, the cell's chromosomes align themselves in the middle of the cell.

Anaphase:

Anaphase I begins when the two chromosomes of each bivalent separate and start moving toward opposite poles of the cell as a result of the action of the spindle.

Telophase:

In telophase a homologous chromosome pairs reach the poles of the cell, nuclear envelopes form around them, and cytokinesis follows to produce two cells. After cytokinesis, each of the two progeny cells has a nucleus with a haploid set of replicated chromosomes.

What happens when the hypothesis is wrong

The cell's series of tunnel-like membranes functioning in transport and storage are the?
schepotkina [342]

The cell's series of tunnel-like membranes functioning in transport and storage are the Endoplasmic Reticulum.

What are the functions of the Endoplasmic Reticulum?

In both plant and animal cells, the endoplasmic reticulum is a network of tubules and flattened sacs that perform a number of tasks.

The structure and function of the two ER regions are different. Ribosomes are affixed to the cytoplasmic side of the membrane in rough ER. Ribosomes are not linked to smooth ER. The smooth ER is often a tubular network, whereas the rough ER is a collection of flattened sacs.

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER)

Endoplasmic Reticulum in rough shape. Membranes and secretory proteins are produced in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. Protein synthesis is carried out by translation on the ribosomes affixed to the rough ER. The rough ER generates antibodies in certain leukocytes (white blood cells). The rough ER creates insulin in pancreatic cells.

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum (SER)

The production of carbohydrates and lipids is one of many tasks performed by the smooth ER. Cell membranes must be built using lipids like cholesterol and phospholipids. Vesicles that deliver ER goods to various locations also use Smooth ER as a transitory place.

Hence, the correct answer is the Endoplasmic reticulum.

Which of the following statements depend on the absolute dating of events? Dinosaurs went extinct before monkeys evolved. Birds
DIA [1.3K]
The correct answer of the given question above would be the third option. The statement that depends on the absolute dating of events is this: The oldest Earth rocks are 3.9 billion years old. Absolute dating is the method of determining the specific date of an archaeological or paleontological artifact. In contrast, relative dating is just the determining of the relative order of events and not necessarily the estimated age of the artifact.

If you are to conduct a DNA analysis using a blood sample which of the blood components will you use
sleet_krkn [62]

Question:-

If you are to conduct a DNA analysis using a blood sample which of the blood components will you use

Options :-

1.) Red Blood Cells

2.) White Blood Cells

3.) Plasma

4.) Platelets

Answer:-

Option 2.) White Blood Cells

Explanation:-

 1. Red Blood Cell(RBC) , Plasma , Platelets lack DNA
 2. White Blood Cell (WBC ) only have DNA
 3. RBC lack nucleus to make space for O2 as the work is to carry O2 with help of hemoglobin
 4. Platelets are the cell fragments of the large cells they help in clotting so too lack nucleus
 5. Plasma is the fluid part of the blood. so it contain water in its most part and too lack DNA bez plasma don't contain any cells
 6. WBC are the only cells which have well defined nucleus with DNA in above mentioned options
