Answer:

x= -3; y = -5

Step-by-step explanation:

You have a system of two equations.

(1)  y = x - 2

(2) y = -⅓x + 6

1. Create a table containing a few values of x and y for each equation

Choose at least three different values for x (it doesn't which values you choose).

I chose -6, -3, and 0.

Calculate the corresponding values of y for each equation.

I got the results in this table.

\begin{array}{rcc}\mathbf{x} & \mathbf{x - 2} &\mathbf{ -\frac{1}{3}x - 6}\\-6 & -8 & -4\\-3 & -5 & -5\\0 & -2 & -6\\\end{array}

2. Draw your axes

You should scale your axes, so the graph covers most of the plot area.

A good place to start is to let both the x- and y-axes run from -10 to 10.

Divide the axes into convenient intervals for ease of reading (I chose units of 2).

3. Plot your points

Draw dots at the coordinates of each point.

4. Draw the graphs

Draw straight lines through the points.

Extend the lines in both directions to the edges of the plot area.

Your graph should resemble the figure below.

4. Find the coordinates of the point where the lines cross

From the point where the lines cross, draw perpendiculars to the x- and y-axes.

They hit the axes at x = -3 and y = -5.

The solution to your system of equations is (-3,-5).

17. Let A denote the event that the next request for assistance from a statistical software consultant relates to the SPSS packa
ankoles [38]

Answer:

a. The probability is not equal to 1

b. P (A') = 0.70

c. P ( A U B ) = 0.80

d. P ( A' ∩ B' ) = 0.20

Step-by-step explanation:

a. Because these A and B are disjoint

b. since the probability of  A is 0.30 then the probability of A compliment is

    P(A compliment ) = 1 - P (A)

    P(A compliment ) = 1-0.30

    P(A compliment ) = 0.70

c. Since event are disjoint then intersection of A and B is 0, so probability of A U B is;

       P ( A U B ) = P (A) + P(B) - P(A∩ B)

       P ( A U B ) = 0.30 + 0.50 - 0

       P ( A U B ) = 0.80

d. The inetrsection of compilments of A and B are:

by using De Morgan's Law we have,

                     P ( A' ∩ B' ) = P [(A U B )']

                     P ( A' ∩ B' ) = 1 - P ( A U B )

                     P ( A' ∩ B' ) = 1 - 0.80

                     P ( A' ∩ B' ) = 0.20

Sovle for n<br><br> n-20=4-3n
deff fn [24]

Answer:

n = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Add 20 to both sides, obtaining

n = 4 - 3n

Next, add 3n to both sides:

4n = 4

Finally, solve for n by dividing both sides by 4:

n = 1

One batch of muffins require 1/4 cup of sugar. Kelly wants to make 3/2 batch of muffins. Will she use more than, less than, or a
Alla [95]
She will use more than 1/4 cup of sugar to make 1.5 batches of muffins.  If one batch of muffins requires 1/4 cup of sugar, you can think of the amount of sugar needed being 1/4 cup per batch.  That being said multiply 1.5 batches by 1/4 cup per batch to find cups of sugar.
(1.5 batches)x((1/4 cups)/(1 batch))=0.375 cups of sugar.

You can also think of it as if one batch takes 1/4 cup of sugar, half of a batch would take 1/8 cup of sugar.  Since 1.5 batches is just 1 batch+1/2 batch, you can say the amount of sugar needed is 1/4 cup+1/8 cup which equals 3/8 cup sugar.

I hope this helps you.
