Gaius marius begin the transition of rome from a republic to a empire by Rebuilding the Roman Government. Before the Gaius Era, the romans use a republic system, when the powers of rome fell in to the hands of several senates. He changed it so the power fell into only one person, marking th way of Roman empire.
