The above event is also known as the Cuban Missile crisis, which occured in 1962.

The reason why US cut the tie:

1) Castro wanted to built a communist government with USSR’s back which was against US’s Ideology of captialism.

2) USSR implanted missiles in Cuba after Castro overthrown the original government to replace it with communist government. This greatly threaten US’s safety as Cuba is very close to the Western Europe and US.

Therefore ties were cut between Cuba and US.

Hope it helps!

What impact did the War of 1812 have on American nationalism (national identity)?
Ulleksa [173]
The correct answer should be
Although the conflict was indecisive, it boosted American nationalism because the American army and navy proved they could stand up to the most powerful country in Europe.

It can't be called a decisive victory or a defeat for anyone since the war ended in a stalemate and nothing got resolved. The situation returned to how it was before the war politically, except they didn't want to go to war anymore. This meant that no boundary changes occurred.
