frez [133]
They didn't go far enough because although all types of institutionalized racism was forbidden by constitutional means, it didn't stop people from being racists. They still behaved like racists and often it would happen that people of color would get punished much more in court than Caucasian people, or people who were racists and did bad things against the African-American population would walk free, especially in smaller communities.

Which of the following statements tells us the most correct information about the kind of military advantage the Europeans had o
vlada-n [284]

The correct answer is C.

In fact the other options provided state the weaknesses that the Europeans  encountered in their conflicts against the native Americans. They did not know the land, whose wilderness added extra dificulties for strangers, and in the case they needed reinforcements, the process of bringing them from Europe was long and costly.

But these weaknesses were rapidly outbalanced due to the huge superiority that the Europeans had in terms of weaponry if compared to the natives. They already knew gunpowder, while, natives Americans were still using bows and arrows. Moreover, the Europeans had properly organized armies, with its hierarchies, different units, experienced and skilled commanders, etc.

What role did war play in bringing about the end of the Roman Republic?
Maru [420]

Answer:The Roman Imperial period followed the period of the Republic. As is true of the Imperial period, civil wars were one of the factors contributing to the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar was the last real leader of the Republic and is counted the first of the Caesars in Suetonius' biographies of the first 12 emperors, but his adoptive son Augustus (Augustus was actually a title given Octavian, but here I will refer to him as [Caesar] Augustus because that is the name by which most people know him), the second in Suetonius' series, is counted as the first of the emperors of Rome. Caesar did not mean "emperor" at this time. Between Caesar and Augustus, ruling as the first emperor, was a period of strife during which the pre-imperial Augustus fought the combined forces of his co-leader, Mark Antony, and Antony's ally, the famous Egyptian queen Cleopatra VII. When Augustus won, he added Egypt—known as Rome's breadbasket—to the territory of the Roman Empire. Thus Augustus brought an excellent source of food to the people who counted.
