It has created new mountains by pushing up some land: in today's Oman and northeastern Iraq!

The mountains in Iraq are the Zagros mountains, which are sacred mountains for the Kurds. The pressure between the Eurasian and the Arabic plate is making the Iranian plate, located between them to fold in the way that those mountains appear!

What are some differences between Igneous and Metamorphic rocks?
Drupady [299]

Answer:

Igneous rock , formed by the cooling of magma inside the Earth or on the surface.

Metamorphic rocks, formed by temperature and pressure changes inside the Earth.

Explanation:

Igneous and Metamorphic are formed in different ways,

Metamorphic rocks: arise from the transformation of existing rock types, in a process called metamorphism, which means "change in form". The original rock may be a sedimentary rock, an igneous rock or another older metamorphic rock.

Igneous rocks: began as magma (molten rock) which cooled and crystallized into minerals. This magma can be derived from partial melts of existing rocks in either a planet's mantle or crust.
