A perimeter of 140 yards? Well, Imagine a huge rectangle. Just draw a rectangle. Of course, make the perimeter 140 yards. Then, make a couple of lines INSIDE the rectangle that you just drew to make 3 separate rectangles that connect to make the big original rectangle. Then calculate the sides to make your labels(I would prefer to keep the measurements in yards, by the way). Hope this helps!<span />

The average score of all pro golfers for a particular course has a mean of 70 and a standard deviation of 3.0 (Think of these as
bija089 [108]

Answer:

0.477 is  the probability that the average score of the 36 golfers was between 70 and 71.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Mean, μ = 70

Standard Deviation, σ = 3

Sample size, n = 36

Let the average score of all pro golfers follow a normal distribution.

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

P(score of the 36 golfers was between 70 and 71)

\text{Standard error of sampling} = \displaystyle\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}} = \frac{3}{\sqrt{36}} = \frac{1}{2}

P(70 \leq x \leq 71) = P(\displaystyle\frac{70 - 70}{\frac{3}{\sqrt{36}}} \leq z \leq \displaystyle\frac{71-70}{\frac{3}{\sqrt{36}}}) = P(0 \leq z \leq 2)\\\\= P(z \leq 2) - P(z \leq 0)\\= 0.977 - 0.500 = 0.477= 47.7\%

P(70 \leq x \leq 71) = 47.7\%

0.477 is  the probability that the average score of the 36 golfers was between 70 and 71.

The attendance at a baseball game was 400 people. Student tickets cost $2 and adult tickets cost $3. Total sales were $1050. How
S_A_V [24]
We know the total tickets sold = 400. Let x be the number of adult tickets sold. That means 400 - x is the number of student tickets. The revenue from adult tickets will be $3 * x, which we can call 3x. The revenue from student ticks will be $2 * (400 - x), or 800 - 2x. The total revenue is $1050, so that means: 3x + (800 - 2x) = 1050. Removing the parentheses: 3x + 800 - 2x = 1050 Subtracting 800 from both sides: 3x - 2x = 250 Simplifying the left side: x = 250, which is the number of adult tickets. 400-x = student tickets = 400-250 = 150. ALWAYS check! In this case, check the revenue: 3x = 3(250) = 750 2(150) = 300 750 + 300 = 1050. Check!
