Since we are trying to find the adult seats, we'll set that to x.  Now the student section is 2x + 25.  The total seats is 130 which is the student section and adult section added together.  So now we can write an equation from the information given...

Students + adults = 130
(2x + 25) + x = 130
2x +25 +x = 130
2x + x + 25 = 130
3x + 25 = 130
3x = 130 - 25
3x = 105
x = 105/3 = 35

So there are 35 adult seats (remember we set adults to x)

Now we substitute back into the equation to find the students seats. As you recall students = 2x + 25

Students = 2x + 25
Students = 2(35) + 25
Students = 70 + 25
Students = 95

There are 95 student seats and 35 adult seats.

the unit digitsof a two numberis 1 less than twice the ten digit. if the sum of tje digits is 9, find the number.
Amiraneli [1.4K]
Are you sure this is written correctly? Any number whose digits add to 9 is divisible by 9.  For a 2 digit number then, your choices are
18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, and 81.  None of these has the property that for the 2 digit number AB that B=2A-1.  Solving your question algebraically is possible but you get fractional digits.

Match the solid figure to the appropriate formula.
AlekseyPX

1. L \cdot A=\pi r l        -       Cone

2. V=\frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3}         -        Sphere

3. T \cdot A=2 \pi r h+2 \pi r^{2} - Cylinder

4. V=\frac{1}{3} B h         -        Pyramid

5. L . A=p h         -        Prism

Solution:

1. L \cdot A=\pi r l

Lateral surface area of cone = \pi r l

where r is the radius of the cone and l is the slant height of the cone.

2. V=\frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3}

Volume of sphere = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3}

where r is the radius of the sphere.

3. T \cdot A=2 \pi r h+2 \pi r^{2}

Total surface area of cylinder = 2 \pi r h+2 \pi r^{2}

where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is the height of the cylinder.

4. V=\frac{1}{3} B h

Volume of pyramid = \frac{1}{3} B h

where B is the base area of the pyramid and h is the height of the pyramid.

5. L . A=p h

Lateral surface area of prism = p h

where p is the perimeter of the base and h is the height of the prism.

I need help wit one & two please help
seropon [69]

23 is less than 25 which means it's closer to 20, so you would round it down to 20. 1.75 is over 0.50, 1/2, so you would round it up to 2. If you multiply 2 and 20 you would get 40.

Number two gets the same explanation just with different numbers.

PLEASE HELP ASAP 25 PTS + BRAINLIEST TO RIGHT/BEST ANSWER
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

(-2,-5)

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 2x-1

3x-y = -1

We can use substitution

3x - (2x-1) = -1

Distribute the minus sign

3x -2x+1 = -1

x +1 =-1

Subtract 1 from each side

x+1-1 = -1-1

x=-2

Now we need to find y

y = 2x-1

y = 2(-2) -1

y = -4-1

y = -5

(-2,-5)
