Methanol poisoning occurs when the body converts a large amount of methanol to harmful chemicals that attack the optic nerves, l
Triss [41]

Answer:

Ethanol is most likely to be a (B), competitive inhibitor.

Explanation:

The poisoing occurs because of the harmful metabolites produced by the alcohol dehydrogenases, enzymes in charge of breaking down alcohol.

Hence, the most likely strategy of an antidote is to compete for the active site of the enzyme and prevent the methanol convertion to harmful chemicals.

Ethanol does not produce these metabolites and it is preferentially proccessed by the body, so it is a competitive inhibitor, competing for the active site.

Why is there more than one single locus probe used in actual paternity DNA test?
Firlakuza [10]
I believe this is done to ensure accuracy.  DNA paternity testing involves the use of DNA profiling to determine whether two individuals are biologically parent and a child. The test establishes genetic proof whether a man is the biological father of the individual in question. There is need for use of more than one loci probes to make sure there is no error and that the results are 100% accurate.
