How did Thomas Paine contribute to the American Revolution?
Radda [10]
Thomas Paine (1737–1809) was a radical writer who emigrated from England to America in 1774. Just two years later, early in 1776, Paine published Common Sense, a hugely influential pamphlet that convinced many American colonists that the time had finally come to break away from British rule. (I don’t think that’s right or not)

Did President Johnson’s actions in response to the Gulf of Tonkin incident show a “monolithic” (rigid) view of communism? Explai
e-lub [12.9K]

The reaction of President Johnson to the Gulf of Tonkin incident did indeed show a monolithic view of Communism because he believed that Communism was dangerous.

What was the Gulf of Tonkin incident?

This was an event in 1964 when it was said that North Vietnamese navy boats attacked American naval destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin.

The North Vietnamese were Communists and Johnson responded by increasing U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

This shows a rigid view of Communism because Johnson thought that it would be right to go after Communists in Vietnam because all Communists were dangerous.
