A sonnet is a poem with 14 lines. This poem has 14 lines with a specific rhyme scheme. AABBCCDDEEFFGG. Sonnets are also written in iambic pentameter. This poem is written in iambic pentameter. Each line has 10 syllables and the syllables alternate between unstressed and stressed. Lastly, the last two lines of the poem make a generalized statement about what is happening in the poem, as well as in life.
