What is the main idea of the chimney sweeper by william blake?
sveticcg [70]
The poem "The Chimney Sweeper" by William Blake is part of his collection Songs of Innocence. The poem is about how these children are devoid of their childhood and innocence, and are forced to work in really harsh conditions sweeping chimneys in all kinds of weather, until they get sick or die. Even if they do get sick, nobody is going to help them, so they will ultimately suffer until they pass away. It is a poem about the horrors of orphaned children who have no one to take care of them, so they have to survive any way they can and hope for a better tomorrow.

Exercise B. Read the situation inside the box and explain how the argument applies to the
kifflom [539]

Answer:

The situation presented is that the child wants to go to a concert on a weekday where he has to go to school, just because his friends are going.

Explanation:

This situation is an example of "following the herd". The child wants to do something wrong just because others do it.

Just because all of his friends go to the concert on a school night does not mean that what they are doing is the right thing to do. His arguments are not valid and that is what his mother wants to make him see with her comment.

His mother is basically asking him: If your friends do something wrong then will you do it too?
