Write a system of equations modeling the given conditions. Then solve the system by the substitution method and find the two num
eduard

Answer:

The value of two numbers is x=49 and y=26 and the corresponding equation for the given condition is x +y =75

Explanation:

Given:

Sum of two numbers is 75

One number is 23 more than other

To find:

Frame the equation for the above condition and find the value of two numbers.

Solution:

From the given we know that the sum of two numbers is 75

Let x and y be the numbers, such that the equation is framed as

x +y =75

And we also know that one number is 23 more than other, so we can say either x or y has a greater one

Here I say x is 23 more than y such that,

x=23+y

Substitute the value of x in the equation and we know

x + y=75 and x=23+y we get,

23+y+y=75

23+2y=75

2y=75-23

2y=52

y=26

Since x=23+y as already stated we get as

x=23+26=49

Result:

Thus the equation for the above given conditions is x +y =75 and the values of two number is 49 and 26

The graph below shows two functions: function f of x is a straight line which joins the ordered pairs negative 2.5, 9 and 2.5, n
weqwewe [10]
We are looking for the approximate solution of -2x+4=(0.25)^x, that is, we are looking for the solution of the equation f(x)=g(x).

The solution of this equation are represented by the intersecting points (x, y) of the graphs of these functions, because the intersecting points (x, y) are such that

                    y=f(x), but also y=g(x).

From the graph, we can see that there are two solutions, one is at approximately x=2, and the other is approximately -1.4.

Answer: -1.4, 2.

If Owen and Eliza had a combined taxable income of $68,200 and filed their federal income tax return with the Married Filing Joi
tangare [24]

Answer:

9425

D

Step-by-step explanation:

They are in the third tax bracket down. That means that their joint income is over 67900 but less than 137050.

The base rate is 9350. But they are 68200 - 67900 = 300 over the minimum.

So 25% of that 300 is also to be paid to the government 25/100 * 300 = 75 dollars

Now they must pay 9350 + 75 = 9425
