Answer:

67

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume that Anna sells x number of pre-sale tickets and y number of at-the-door tickets.

Since, total capacity of the venue is 400, so we can write x + y = 400 ...... (1)

Now, given that each pre-sale ticket costs $10 and each at-the-door ticket costs $25, and total funds she needs to raise is $5000

So,we can write 10x + 25y = 5000, ⇒ x + 2.5y = 500 .... (2)

Now, solving equations (1) and (2) we get,

(2.5 - 1)y = 500 - 400 = 100

⇒ 1.5y = 100

⇒ y = 66.67

Hence, from equation (1) we get, x = 400 - 66.67 = 333.33

Since, y can not be a fraction and it can not be < 66.67 {Otherwise the goal of $5000 can not be achieved}

So, the minimum number of at-the-door ticket she needs to sell to make her goal is 67. (Answer)

Find the odds for and the odds against the event rolling a fair die and getting a 4 comma a 5 comma or a 2.
skelet666 [1.2K]

The odds in favor are 3:3 which reduces to 1:1

There are 3 ways to get what we want, which is 4, 5 or 2. There are 3 ways to get what we don't want (1,3,or 6). So we list those two values as a ratio like so 3:3, which reduces to 1:1 after you divide both parts by 3.

Here's another example. If we wanted to know the odds in favor of rolling a 5 or 6, then the answer would be 2:4 which reduces to 1:2. This is because there are 2 ways to get what we want (rolling a 5 or 6) and 4 ways to get what we don't want (rolling either 1,2,3, or 4). The number of events we favor is listed first when it comes to "odds in favor" problems.

An electronics company has two production facilities, denoted A and B. During an average week, facility A produces 2000 computer
kozerog [31]

Answer:

8 weeks of production from A and 4 weeks of production of B required to produce 28,000 monitors and 132,000 televisions.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of weeks of production for team A be x and for team B be y.

In a week, facility A produces 2,000 computer monitors.

In a week ,facility A produces 3,000 computer monitors.

Total monitors to be produced = 28,000

2000x+3000y=28,000

2x+3y=28..[1]

In a week, facility A produces 10,000 flat panel televisions.

In a week ,facility A produces 13,000 flat panel televisions.

Total flat panel televisions to be produced = 132,000

10,000x+13,000y=132,000

10x+13y=132..[2]

Solving equation [1] and [2] by eliminationg method.

5 × [1] + (-1) × [2]

10x+15y=140

-10x-13y=-132

y = 4

x = \frac{28-3\times 4}{2}=\frac{16}{2}=8

8 weeks of production from A and 4 weeks of production of B required to produce 28,000 monitors and 132,000 televisions.

Convert 4x-2y=6 into slope intercept form
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

y=2x-3

Step-by-step explanation:

first, you have to get the y by itself (isolate the y). you do this by subtracting 4x from both sides.

4x-2y=6

-2y=-4x+6

next, you have to divide both side by -2 to isolate the y further and get this into slope-intercept form:

-2y=-4x+6

y=2x-3

How do i round 186.282?
adoni [48]

Well, first you need to decide what place you want to round it TO.

Example:  Round it to the nearest hundredth:

The next larger hundredth is  186.29 .
The next smaller hundredth is  186.28 .
Now look at it.
186.282  is closer to  186.28  than it is to  186.29 .
So the nearest hundredth is  186.28 .

-- When  186.282  is rounded to the nearest hundredth, it becomes  186.28 .

Similarly . . .
-- When  186.282  is rounded to the nearest tenth, it becomes  186.3 .
-- When  186.282  is rounded to the nearest whole number, it becomes  186 .
-- When  186.282  is rounded to the nearest ten, it becomes  190 .
-- When  186.282  is rounded to the nearest hundred, it becomes  200 .
-- When  186.282  is rounded to the nearest thousand or anything larger,
                                                                                       it becomes  zero.

I'm curious . . . where did this number come from ?

It happens to be one thousandth of the speed of light, in miles per hour.

Did it come up in science class, or did a science geek use it for
one of the problems in math ?
