One reason women are underrepresented in leadership positions is that they are looked at less positively than men for being assertive.
Unfortunately, men are looked at in a better light for being assertive in a leadership role. In prior generations, women were not allowed or considered for leadership roles so they are still often looked down at while in these positions.
