Answer:

The two things that motivated the explorers to navigate the world must have been the desire to find new lands that could be owned and the possibility of coming across huge deposits of gold.

Explanation:

 • The very reason for the Spanish, Portuguese, and the French to set out on exploration tours was the desire for wealth through gold and land.
 • Moreover, they had heard about the wealth that is there in countries like India and China and that must have made them set out on voyages to find these countries.

5 Important Things About Decolonization in the Congo
igomit [66]

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

During the decolonization of Congo, here are the five important things that occurred:

1. Prior to independence, the Congolese voted a president, Joseph Kasavubu, prime minister, Patrice Lumumba, a senate and assembly, and other postion in the Congo’s various level of government.

2. On July 5, 1960, Congolese soldiers in the Force Publique mutinied against their white Belgian commanders at the Thysville military base, agitating for higher pay and more opportunity and authority.

3. On July 11, 1960, the richer Katanga province had declared its independence from the Republic of the Congo, which was later followed in August by South Kasai province.

4. On July 13, the United Nations agreed on resolution which made the creation of an intervention force, named Organisations des Nations Unies au Congo (ONUC), and called for the withdrawal of all Belgian troops.

5. On September 5, Kasavubu dismissed Lumumba from the government. Lumumba ignored the decree and dismissed Kasavubu.

6. On September 14, 1960, in a bid to avoid civil war, Colonel Joseph Mobutu of the Congolese National Army (CNA) carried out a coup d’état and later ordered the Soviets out of the country.

It should also be noted that Patrice Lumumba was later arrested and killed, under Joseph Mobutu administration.

President Roosevelt declined to invoke the Neutrality Acts because they worked to the advantage of aggressors. Explain this posi
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

It ensures the United State keeps trade with the aggressor state.

Explanation:

To begin with, Neutrality Acts state that a President can announce the existence of a foreign war. In this wise, US citizens are disenfranchised from sailing to the bellicose state, sailing or transporting munitions to the bellicose, or making credit to the bellicose. Suffix to say, this actually angered the bellicose, until when later reviewed.

The scenario that the neutrality acts worked to the advantage of the aggressors can be found in the Japanese aggression to China, when the former touched an explosion in the region. The then President of the United State, refused to call the incident a 'declared war', thus no invocation of the neutrality acts.

With this, the USA continues to sell it's war supplies and materials to the Japanese- an aggressor state. This would otherwise be impossible if the neutrality acts has been invoked.
