When measuring the weight of individuals in a population of ground squirrels, what tools would be most appropriate
olchik [2.2K]

There are many ways to estimate ground squirrel numbers. The most common and popular monitoring technique is the combination of electronically recorded stress calls and visual counts where ground squirrels respond physically, vocally or both. You simply count the number of squirrels in a 100m by 100m area that respond to a hand-held imitation ground squirrel call tool.

Based on your prior knowledge, make a claim about the factors that cause inherited genetic variations within populations. Also m
solniwko [45]

Answer AND Explanation:

FACTORS THAT CAUSE GENETIC VARIATIONS

 1. Crossing over. At the chiasmata during prophase I of meiosis, breakage may occur and exchange of genetic information may take place. New gene combinations which result in variations.
 2. Independent assortment. The arrangement of homologous chromosomes at the equator of the spindle during metaphase of the first meiotic division is random. These homologous chromosomes segregate into different daughter cells which contain different genetic combinations which brings about variation
 3. Fertilisation permits parental genes to be brought together in different combinations. This is the cause of variations in members of the same family.
 4. Mutation is the spontaneous change in the genetic makeup of an organism. These changes may be inherited by the offspring therefore beginning variation.

Generally, the hormones secretin and cholecystokinin which are released by duodenal enteroendocrine cells will ________. decreas
aniked [119]

Answer:

c. increase the release of digestive enzymes and bile

Explanation:

Secretin and cholecystokinin are hormones produced in the duodenal region of the small intestine. They are both involved in the release of digestive enzymes and bile.

Secretin is actively involved in controlling the pH of the chyme when it enters the duodenum from the stomach. It does so by inhibiting the release of gastric acid from the parietal cells in the stomach. Secretin induces the release of sodium bicarbonate ions from the pancreas which help to increase the pH of the chyme. This hormone also stimulates the secretion of bile.

Cholecystokinin (CCK) stimulates the contraction of the gallbladder and the release of bile into the duodenum. CCK also acts on the pancreas, stimulating it to produce pancreatic juices for digestion.
