Because the area of a trapezoid is A= ((a+b)/2)h, where a is the length of the top, b is the length of the base, and h is the height, you plug that in to find your answer.

This trapezoid is sideways, but the top of it is 7m (which is a) and the base is 10 m (which is b), add a and b to get 17, A = ((17)/2)h

Now divide by 2 to get A = (8.5)h

Because the height is 9, A = (8.5)9 = 76.5

The area of the trapezoid alone is 76.5m

The mean hours of sleep that students get per night is 5 hours, the standard deviation of hours of sleep is 1 hour, and the dist
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

.For about 68% of students, nightly amount of sleep is between __4____and ___6__ hours. For about 95% of students, nightly amount of sleep is between __3____and __7___ hours. For about 99.7% of students, nightly amount of sleep is between ___2___and __8___ hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

The empirical rule tells us that for normal distributions,

68% of data lie within one standard deviation of the mean.

Thus, 68% of data lie within \bar{x} \pm s

⇒ 5 ± 1 = (4, 6) hours

Similarly, 95% of data lie within two standard deviation of the mean.

Thus, 95% of data lie within \bar{x} \pm 2s

⇒ 5 ± 2 = (3, 7) hours

99.7% of data lie within one standard deviation of the mean.

Thus, 99.7% of data lie within \bar{x} \pm s

⇒ 5 ± 3 = (2, 8) hours

If h(y)=3y^2-2y+5, find the value of h(-2)
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

21

Step-by-step explanation:

h(y)=3y^2-2y+5

Let y = -2

h(y)=3(-2)^2-2(-2)+5

     = 3(4) +4 +5

     = 12 +4 +5

     =21
