Americans were vulnerable to a nuclear disaster.

Explanation:

During the Cold war USSR has secretly placed nuclear missiles on the island of Cuba, which is only 90 miles away from Miami.

USA was tensed because of this and wanted the missiles to be removed. Because Americans were vulnerable to a nuclear disaster.

It was very scary for them, because the first time they were vulnerable. They did reacted to this a several ways.

But thanks o president Kennedy to take the decisions and the nuclear avert came to an end.
