The consumerism is a process that is becoming widespread in the developed nations and while it offers lot of opportunities it also creates numerous problems as well.

Explanation:

The consumerism is a process when the people tend to be focused on consuming large amounts of goods, more often than not more than they actually need. This has been enabled with the process of globalization, free market economies, as well as the availability of the goods. In general, the people in the developed countries have become able to afford much more than they actually need.

Now this has its opportunities, such as using the best and most practical goods, improve the lifestyle, having more luxuries house and possessions etc. Some people use the opportunities to the maximum, but the majority don't. The problem is how the human nature works though.

Instead of the people using the opportunities, the majority of them fall into big problems and create problems for others. Good example is the consumption of food, where people instead of buying the better products, they go for the ''tastiest'' and unhealthy ones, causing themselves lot of medical problems. Also, huge amounts of food are thrown away, even though lot of resources are used for the production of it, and lot of people around the world don't even have enough to survive.

Elis [28]

When a person possesses two different alleles at the same locus, and both alleles are expressed in the phenotype, this is called Codominance.

Alleles

According to leading textbooks on genetics and evolution, an allele is a variant of the same sequence of nucleotides at the same location on a lengthy DNA molecule. "A locus is the chromosomal or genomic site of a gene or other genetic element, and alleles are variant DNA sequences at a locus." The majority of alleles observed have little or no effect on the function of the gene product for which they code. Various alleles can, however, result in variable observable phenotypic features, such as different colouring. Gregor Mendel's discovery that the white and purple blossom hues of pea plants were caused by a single gene with two alleles is an example of this.
