What jobs did people do in the countryside in the 1800s?

Well most of it was farming for men or running their own shops. Little boys would help in the feild and girls would help at home with caring for the other siblings and help mom make candles and bar soap. Also the mom would help at home by cleaning and if the husband was out of town the would have to help in the shop.
