The women's role was to look after the children and husband, cook dinner, clean the dishes and at the end of the busy day they would have to make sure that their husband is comfortable at night when he was sleeping. Which finally gave you a couple of hours sleep at night but not long before you would have to wake up and start the same day over again. But now women have rights to do everything they want to do. They have freedom to say anything, to vote, to do anything, to go anywhere they want to go. Now days women can work. They can stand in elections. All these things were not available for women in 1950's. This role is significant in Canadian history because it shows that women also can do things that man can do. They are not different, they are also human being and as strong as a men. This shows that in our country not only men are brave and only men can do anything but women also are very brave and they can give competition to men. Women are brave and talented. I chose this event because this event shows that you should never underestimate any body. People in 1950's thought that women can not do anything but that's not true, women can do anything.
