Greg and Shawn are studying for a physical science test. Greg thinks that the kinetic energy of an object depends on the height

and speed of an object, but Shawn thinks it depends on the mass of an object. Who is right and why?
Greg is right. Increasing the height or speed of an object increases the kinetic energy of an object.

Neither is completely right. Shawn is partly correct since kinetic energy depends on mass, but Greg is also partly right since it also depends on speed.

Both Greg and Shawn are correct since kinetic energy depends on mass, height and speed of an object.

Shawn is right. The mass of an object determines the inertia of the object. Increasing inertia is the only thing that will increase kinetic energy..

The answer is B) Neither is completely right. Shawn is partly correct since kinetic energy depends on mass, but Greg is also partly right since it also depends on speed.

Because, kinetic energy depends on speed, and mass.

Potential energy depends on the height and speed of an object.

compare the thickness of the wall of the superior and inferior vena cava and the aorta. which is thicker and why???
mariarad [96]

Answer:The wall of the aorta is thicker than that of the inferior venacava; this is because the aorta is the artery that carries blood from the heart from the left ventricle to the whole body (except the lungs), while the superior and inferior venacava are the veins that carry blood from the body to the right atrium. hope this helps !:)

Where is long-wavelength radiation created?
Ivahew [28]

On the earth surface

Explanation:

The long-wavelength radiation is created on the earth surface when electromagnetic radiation is re-emitted.

  • The sun releases radiation in form of short-wave.
  • They are usually more energetic and with short wavelength and a high frequency.
  • When they interact with materials on the earth, they are radiated back as long-wavelength radiation that usually causes heat.
  • Ultraviolet rays and other high energy waves are emitted from the sun because it is a very hot body.
  • When these radiations enters the earth, they are re-radiated back as long waves with lower energy.
  • Earth is cooler than the sun
  • When some of the short waves for example, the ultraviolet rays gets to the surface, it is absorbed and re-radiated back.
  • When the short waves are absorbed, they lose some of their their energy to the earth surface.
  • The remainder is radiated back as less energetic long waves.
  • The hotter a body is, the more energetic the radiation it releases.
