The First Crusade (1096-1099 C.E.) was the most successful. The Second (1147-1148 C.E.), Third (1189-1193 C.E.), Fourth (1201-1204 C.E.) and Last (which came soon after the Fourth) Crusades were less successful and added to the tension between the Christians and Muslims in what is now the Middle East.

Which statement best explains the metaphorical meaning of blue skin in the poem?
shepuryov [24]

Answer: c) In the poem, blue skin represents a quality that people are afraid to share even though it is an important part of their identity.

Explanation:

In the poem Masks by Shel Silverstein, both the male and the female had blue skin and yet hid it. Skin colour is a very noticeable thing and in this world your skin colour is a very important part of who you are. This must mean therefore that they were very afraid to share it and this is why they hid something so important.

I have attached the poem for you to read through.
