The correct answer is B) how people affect the natural world and how it affects them.

The essential element of geography called “environment and society” can best be described as the study of how people affect the natural world and how it affects them.

People affect the places they live in and the environment affects them in many different forms. That is a fact.

When people establish in one place, the environment is being affected. Urbanization ends with forests, trees, displaces species of animals form their natural habitat, and some times pollute nearby rivers and lakes. Air pollution is often the first form of pollution along with noise pollution. That is whys so important to take care of the environment.

The environment also affects people. If the location is in the Caribbean, the heat and humidity affect people and they had to adapt to new living conditions. The same if they live in cold areas, They had to get used to the environment, use different clothes and if there is snow, to be more careful when driving. For humans, adaptation to wheater and environmental conditions has been the name of the game to survive on earth.
