Based on fossils found in Oklahoma especially in Coal County where the Lower Devonian formations are located, it is known that the Trilobite was the most common form of sea life in Oklahoma.

Trilobites are extinct and are believed to have been so for over 251 million years which would predate the dinosaurs. They were anthropoids that were believed to have been marine based.
