According to the statement above:
" How did expanding research and development activities, "scientific management," and mass production reshape American industrial production? What role did General Electric and the Ford Motor Company play in these early twentieth-century developments?"
The answer is:
1. The expanding research allowed plenty industries to partner with different universities and grow faster.
2. The scientific management and mass production created an economy that was really fast and efficient, independent of skilled laborers, it placed more power in high officials, and made work very boring
Also, the General Electric created the first corporate lab and Ford Motor Company used the assembly line as well.
Hope this helps.
Farming was hard because of the rocky soil, the long and very harsh winters and the very short growing season. The soil wasn't good for growing crops, especially near the ocean. The farmers would move the rocks out of the way before planting.
Also, the early and long lasing winters killed many crops quickly. Due to this hardship the farmers in New England colonies only farmed enough for their family, themselves and their animals.
