"how does body ritual among the nacirema help us understand our own view of other cultures and how we are viewed by other cultur
Archy [21]

Well, you might be wondering what country "nacirema" comes from, you might have checked the world map and couldn't find it there, you might be sitting down and wondering what kind of strange culture/tribe allows peoples body to be used for ritual, okay, let me disappoint you, nacirema is actually America written backward.

Based on this, we tend to see other cultures as weird and horrible, we look down on them and wish they could be wiped off the map, there seems to be a us vs them, we feel we are better and shouldn't associate with such people or culture. They, on the other hand, view us as the strongest, richest and most powerful nation in the world, however, they still view us as a people who discriminate against other cultures, they view us as been rude and cruel to their culture, we often laugh at them when they speak, just becuase they dont speak like Americans, to us our perspective is the only one that's truly right, but the truth is, every culture is unique.

What are the 4 functions families provide to individuals and society? Which do think is the most important? WHY?
Airida [17]
The four functions that families provide to individuals and society are as follows:

1.Families provide a stable and supportive environment for children's primary socialization. Through socialization provided by parents and older family members, children learn basic behaviors (putting own clothes, using a toilet, table manners, etc.). Furthermore, parents play the primary role in teaching  children appropriate norms and values of the society they live in.

2. Next, families provide a big source of support (both financial and emotional support) for its members. Parents support children both financially and emotionally- putting them through school, keeping them warm in the winter, enrolling them for extracurricular activities, etc. Children also support their parents emotionally and in intangible ways by bringing them joy and happiness.

3. Third, families provide conducive environments for healthy and frequent sexual activity. Spouses in a family are able to regularly fulfill their sexual needs, making them less likely to have sexual relations with others outside their marriage. This reduces conflict and helps maintain order in society.

4. Lastly, families enable the reproduction of children and propagation of the human species. Through reproduction of new individuals, society is provided with new productive members. This benefits society and keeps it functioning.  Without new members being regularly added to it, society cannot continue to exist.

I believe that the most important function of families for individuals and society is the first one mentioned above - families provide a stable and supportive environment for children's primary socialization. This function is very important because without proper socialization, individuals will be unable to function smoothly in society, and could even face debilitating issues. When individuals are properly socialized, it benefits society too by minimizing conflict and crime and ensuring that members of society contribute by adding positive value.

How could social activism help fight Poverty
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

Addresses information and resources on how to combat a problem

Explanation:

There are a lot of ways to how "social activism" helps fight issues like poverty because "social" means the action of communicating with others. By communicating with others on an issue, you are able to get an insight as to what it is first by speaking to the community.

Social activism can help fight poverty because they are educating other people as to why poverty happens, what we can do, and how we can prevent it from happening in the future.
