The correct answer is "Congress was able to override a presidential veto of the act."

The War Powers Act was a federal law that limits the ability of the president to commit the US military. Thanks to this law, the US president cannot commit the US to an armed conflict unless he/she has Congressional approval. Even though President Richard Nixon tried to stop this law from happening by vetoing it, Congress overrode this veto with a 2/3rds vote in each part of Congress to ensure that it became a law.

alexandr1967 [171]
In a time period where the majority of society were angry white people showed her physical courage. She knew what she was doing was going to get her in trouble yet she did it anyways because of the unjust treatment her race faced which can be seen as her moral courage. Also, it caught the world's attention & that attention was finally more focused on the treatment blacks endured. :)

Which practice is most likely to have been supported by conservatives in Europe in the 1800s?
Alex787 [66]

Answer: A monarch made key political decisions based on input from advisors.

During the 1800s, most of Europe was still governed by monarchs. However, the republican, democratic example of the United States was heavily influential in liberal circles. Conservatives at that time period wanted to protect the institution of monarchy. So out of the options, it is more likely that conservatives would have supported keeping the monarch, while receiving input from advisors.

They supported by ensuring that those workers would get higher pay, as well as promising that the state would in turn help the company once the war is over. It was like the war bonds thing but more complex as it involved companies and not regular people.
