World War I was really the first "total" war in the sense that practically no target was off limits for attack. The justification was that ships carrying goods to the enemy were just as dangerous in the long term as the weapons they were making.

Discuss the importance of controlling fire.
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

Controlling fire is important because not doing so can cause even more catastrophic damage than has already been done. Take California historically, for example. In the past, they've had millions of acres destroyed by wildfires, and that was while they were being contained. Imagine if they weren't, How much more *could* it have done?

qaws [65]

Answer:

PROBLEMS CREATED BY MONOPOLIES:

1. monopoly can cause deadweight loss, or a lack of equilibrium between supply and demand.

2. disadvantages of monopolies include price-fixing, low-quality products, lack of incentive for innovation, and cost-push inflation.

3. it can cause inequality, and political abuse.

4. Monopoly tends to limit options available to consumers. Monopoly results in allocative inefficiency--in other words, the monopoly price is higher than the marginal cost of production. Profits do not encourage entry into the industry.

How did Black Oklahoman’s contribute to the larger Civil Rights Movement?
Ket [755]

Answer:

Explanation:

Katz Drug in downtown Oklahoma City was the setting of what's referred to as the tipping point in the nation's civil rights movement. That's where, in the fall of 1958, Clara Luper and 13 black children participated in a sit-in, silently and non-violently protesting segregation at the store's lunch counter. One of the greatest achievements of the civil rights movement, the Civil Rights Act led to greater social and economic mobility for African-Americans across the nation and banned racial discrimination, providing greater access to resources for women, religious minorities, African-Americans and low-income families.
