Answer:

lactose is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Lactose is a type of disaccharide sugar and it is found in milk and dairy products.

A person with symptoms of lactose intolerance should avoid milk product because their small intestine is not able to make adequate of the digestive enzyme which is called lactase.

lactase function is to break the lactose present in the food so that the body can digest it.

lactose intolerance means inability to digest the lactose present in dairy food and as the lactose remains undigested it may lead to diarrhea, gas formation, bloating and discomfort in the stomach.

Do you think chronic diseases, and muscular and skeletal injuries, can be completely avoided based on your behaviors? Explain wh
Mariulka [41]
Very open ended question here. It’s yes and no. There are autoimmune diseases that can manifest which you have no control over that can result in muscle wasting. So that being said no your behaviours will not always result in the avoidance of disease. When it comes to injuries, your behaviours can influence it. For example, by choosing to exercise you are increasing risk of injury acutely but also reducing risk of injury chronically. The aim is to get stronger for the long run while jeopardizing yourself through the process.

Why is gas exchange crucial to sustaining life? Select all that apply.
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

Gas exchange is crucial to sustain life because it rids the body of carbon dioxide and provides oxygen to the body.

Explanation:

Gas exchange in living beings is a mechanism that involves the incorporation of oxygen (O₂) into the organism and the elimination of carbon dioxide (CO₂). This exchange takes place in the pulmonary alveolus and in cells and tissues.

 • During respiration, the inspired air - loaded with O₂ - is exchanged with the CO₂ contained in the blood, taking advantage of the former and eliminating the latter during expiration.
 • When the oxygenated blood is taken to the tissues, O₂ is passed to the cells, which are deprived of the CO₂ produced by metabolism.

The reason why gas exchange is crucial for the sustain of life is because it is the mechanism that allows the entry of O₂ necessary for cellular functions, as well as providing a means of CO₂ elimination.
