In Musèe des Beaux Arts by W.H. Auden the people on the ship do nothing after seeing Icarus fall into the sea and the ship continues on its way. Why was that? Because according to the author, when a tragedy happens, human beings are not affected by it if their interests are protected and they have an horizon to pursue.

Which statements represent valid reasoning and which statements represent invalid reasoning?
8090 [49]

The first statement is Invalid Reasoning. Though a dog run would be a kind action towards dogs, it is not truly a valid point in justifying the construction of a dog run. It is not enough of a reason.

The second statement is also Invalid reasoning. The information is not relevant to the argument of building or not a dog run.

The third statement is Valid Reasoning. It states clearly an argument in favour of building a dog run.

The fourth statement is also Valid Reasoning. It explains a reason why the dog run is not really a priority, and would benefit only few citizens. It is a valid argument against the dog run

Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

Helen Adams Keller.

Explanation:

Helen Keller was blind and deaf right from birth but that did not stop her from progressing in life nor did it stop her from learning to 'talk' or 'communicate'. She also authored many books including one of her most famous and touching biography "The Story of My Life" about her struggles as a handicapped child.

Keller was also well-traveled and outspoken about her beliefs. She would later become an integral part of women's rights to vote, and other societal issues including labor rights. Her physical deformity did not stop her from working towards her cause. In fact, it seemed to strengthen her determination to achieve what others believed she couldn't.
